Reading & Games
Once sounds and basic blending are under your belt - you're away! It's time to get stuck into reading through books and games!
Our reading books follow a gradual progression, introducing new sounds and longer words slowly. This builds confidence in the innate ability that children already have.
We also throw in learning games for fun and practise!
As student's read, they discuss story, characters, themes and vocabulary. In this way, comprehension is built into the program.
Spelling & Writing
For spelling, we use words that are grouped into similar sounds and patterns. This means students know what to expect in words as they spell, which supports their confidence and success.
When children are ready, they are supported to express through writing. This further extends their skills, confidence, and their ability to interact with their world.
